Wanting to say a huge thank you to Ren-ai Irene Lindley for her beautiful work as a ‘weaver’ (her words) in her role as celebrant at my Mother’s funeral on Wednesday. Her Facebook page is Celebright. Ren-ai was a wonderful celebrant for my mother’s 85th birthday party.  It was a truly special occasion as Ren-ai had discussed with my mother what she would like said, what music she’d like played, poems to be read out, and how to involve and include her grandchildren into the occasion.  It was exactly as she had hoped and planned.  Ren-ai created the magical space for this to happen – her pace, timing and sensitivity to every person present in the room was perfect.  Everyone was included and felt a part of the celebration.  People commented after what a special and memorable birthday party it had been. At a small gathering of friends and family, Ren-ai created a beautiful and moving remembrance ceremony for my father. We all had the opportunity to share our special memories and be part of the ceremony. The rain cleared and the sun shone as we looked over to the Waitakere Ranges.
